The transponder chip in the key must be programmed by a locksmith in order for you to start the vehicle with this key.
On a new unit, three things must be done for this unit to fully function: key blade must be cut, transponder chip in the key must be programmed to start ignition, and remote buttons must be programmed for keyless entry remote board.
This remote must be professionally cut and programmed when received by a local automotive locksmith (click here for Locksmith Search ). We do not recommend going to a dealer, as they may decline programming an aftermarket remote for you.
